CEU Course Description 

This continuing education course equips nursing home administrators with the essential knowledge and practical strategies to comprehensively understand and address the multifaceted psychosocial needs of residents. Participants will delve into the critical importance of recognizing and integrating residents' unique social, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds into their care, moving beyond basic physical care to foster holistic well-being. CEU Course Objectives 

  1. Articulate the diverse psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of long-term care residents, recognizing their profound impact on overall quality of life and well-being.
  2. Develop person-centered care strategies that effectively integrate residents' individual preferences, values, and backgrounds into their daily care plans.
  3. Identify and assess internal facility resources and administrative practices crucial for fostering a supportive environment that addresses residents' social engagement and activity needs.
  4. Analyze the role of community engagement in enhancing residents' lives and explore effective methods for leveraging external resources and volunteer programs to meet their needs.
  5. Formulate administrative approaches that prioritize resident satisfaction and uphold their rights, particularly in relation to their social, cultural, and spiritual expressions.
