CEU Course Description

This course was developed from the Alzheimer's Association Facts and Figures report which provides a statistical resource for U.S. data related to Alzheimer's disease, the most common type of dementia, as well as other dementias.  Background and context for interpretation of the data, which includes definitions of various types of dementia and a summary of current knowledge about Alzheimer's disease, is also provided.  Additionally, the prevalence, mortality, caregiving and use and costs of care and services is addressed.  The report also focuses on long-distance caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.

CEU Course Objectives

2.  Become familiar with the changes in the brain that are associated with Alzheimer's disease.
