This course was developed from the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion report which provides a snapshot of our nation's progress in promoting prevention, improving the health and well-being of older adults, and reducing behaviors that contribute to premature death and disability.  In addition, the report highlights mobility (referring to movement in all of its forms) and how optimal mobility is fundamental to healthy aging.

 

CEU Course Objectives

1.  Discuss the connection between optimal mobility and healthy aging. 

2.  List the behaviors that contribute to premature death and disability.

3.  Explain how the older population is impacted by the various rates of flu and pneumonia. 

4.  Identify which form of physical activity is the most commonly reported among older adults.
