CEU Course Description
This course was developed from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality report which provides organizations with comprehensive, science-based information on common, costly medical conditions and new health care technologies and strategies. The eight topic areas are: effectiveness of bundled payment programs, effectiveness of the patient-centered medical home, Quality Improvement strategies to address health disparities, effectiveness of medication adherence interventions, effectiveness of public reporting, prevention of healthcare-associated infections, Quality Improvement measurement of outcomes for people with disabilities, and health care and palliative care for patients with advanced and serious illness.
CEU Course Objectives
1. Identify key dimensions of high-quality healthcare as defined by the Institute of Medicine.
2. Be aware of the difference between 'Micro' and 'Macro' healthcare levels for the series on closing the healthcare quality gap.
3. Review the different healthcare quality levels and what topics fall under each level.
4. Become familiar with how Evidence-based Practice Centers create the analytic framework to show how an intervention is hypothesized to influence a population's outcomes.
